Marilyn Kelley - February 11, 2009
Marilyn L. (Voorhees) Kelley, 80, Pawnee City, Neb., formerly of Lincoln, Neb., died peacefully with family at her side on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009.
She was born June 17, 1928, to Claire and Ted Voorhees in Hastings, Neb. The family moved to Wauneta in 1938 and she attended school in Wauneta and graduated from Wauneta High Scool.
She was a retired music teacher, having taught in the Lincoln Public Schools. She was a member of SAI music sorority, Delta Delta Delta sorority, Chapter AV PEO, and the Westminster Presbyterian Church. She served as a board member and was a former director of S.A.I.L. Music Camp.
Survivors include: sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Robert Walgren of Wauneta; daughter Patricia Kelley of Columbia, Mo., daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Michael Schilling of Pawnee City, daughter and son-in-law Susan and William Rauth of Omaha; grandchildren: Kelly Schilling of Falls City, Neb., Dallas Schilling of Lincoln, Neb., Jonathan Schilling of Pawnee City; Meagan, Lauren and Paul Rauth of Omaha; nephews Rex and Scott Walgren of Wauneta and great nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held Feb. 14, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Pawnee City with Rev. Duane Westing officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be sent in care of the family for S.A.I.L. Music Camp or for a gift to the staff of Pawnee Manor in appreciation for the excellent care she received.
