Richard Mueller - October 03, 2010


Richard Lee Mueller was born April 25, 1936, at Salem, Neb., in Richardson County, to Arnold R. and Ethel Mae (Bacon) Mueller.
As a young man he moved with his family to Wauneta, Neb., in the early 1940s. He attended school in Wauneta, graduating from Wauneta High School in 1954.
The following year, Richard moved to Imperial and married Betty Mullanix, and to this union four boys, Rick, Don, Marvin and Kevin, were born.
Richard was a diesel mechanic by trade and worked many places in Imperial over the years including John Deere, Ford New Holland and the Chief Power Company.
Richard loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed playing cards, camping and spending time with his family. He was a member of the NRD, the Eagles and a former member of the Ikes.
Richard passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 3, 2010, at son Rick’s home near Gibbon, Neb. He was 74 years of age.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alan.
Survivors include longtime companion, Jane Crawford of Imperial, Neb.; sons, Rick and wife, Janet, of rural Gibbon, Neb., Don of Dalton, Neb., Marvin and wife, Betty, of Holbrook, Neb., Kevin and wife, Marsha, of Ogallala, Neb.; step-daughters, Paula Scheil and Denise Gibb; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two great grandsons; two brothers, Jerry Mueller and wife, Thelma, of Troy, Mont., and Charles Mueller, of Norfolk, Va.
Graveside services were held Wednesday morning, 11 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, with Rev. Francis Baker officiating.
Casketbearers were Dick Carmin, Frank Clements, Ike Myers, Justin Mueller, Daniel Mueller and Trevor Scheil.
Honorary casketbearers were Dennis Kuskie and Dave Oxford.
A memorial has been established in Richard’s memory.
