Leona Hunt - July 05, 2010

Leona Nola Hunt, 83 of Scottsbluff, Neb., died on July 5, 2010, at Regional West Medical Center.
Leona was born Aug. 6, 1926, in Dundy County, Nebraska, to James Edward and Anna Catherine (Maris) Harrison. She graduated high school in Stratton. She then received her teaching certificate and taught in rural schools until she and Vernon Hunt were united in marriage on March 5, 1954, in Wauneta. To this union seven children were born.
Leona enjoyed gardening and canning as well as sewing, crocheting and other crafts. In her later years she enjoyed her crossword puzzles.
She was a lifetime member of Immanuel Missionary Church where she served as district treasurer for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon, of Scottsbluff; her children: Verlin (Susan) Hunt of Springfield, Mo.; Kathryn Hunt of Scottsbluff; Lois Glynn of Scottsbluff; Loren (Tammy) Hunt of Bois D’ Arc, Mo.; Larry Hunt of Scottsbluff and Phyllis Johnson of Nampa, Idaho; sisters: Florence (Milton) Hegwood of Culbertson; Lois (Raymond) Bley of Wauneta and Beulah (Keith) Harris of McCook; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son James LeRoy Hunt.
Funeral services were Friday, July 9, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the Bible Missionary Church in LaGrange, Wyo. Burial followed at the LaGrange Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday July 8 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
Memorials may be made in care of the family to be used for foreign missions. Her obituary may be viewed at where condolences may be made.
