Marjy Legg - June 14, 2010
Marjy Legg of Crete, Neb., left this life June 14, 2010.
She has written her own goodbyes —
“I am writing this as I want to say my own goodbyes, and not leave the burden to others.
“I arrived in this world June 14, 1935, at the ranch west of Wauneta, Neb., the first born of Clarence and Roberta (Tuttle) Blobaum. I was followed in years to come by Myrna and Marian. Though my life has ended do not mourn, for it was a good one. I lived well and laughed often.
“During the month of April, 1955, I became the bride of Glen L. Legg. Our blessings were numerous. One, the creation of life as a new born babe came to share our lives. Born of love, Larry LeRoy. We felt pride in his accomplishments, and joy with his life partner, Lorraine.
“To my child and his descendants, my family and friends, I leave my riches. They are found in every day, common things — the flowers, the wildlife, the serenity of nature, the excitement of life. In these gifts from God, I found myself and my peace: the buds of spring became the blooms of summer and with maturity, fall, then winter — with rebirth following again in the spring, the beauty of God’s paintbrush in the sunrise and sunset. I saw, lived and loved them all.
“I was blessed with the arrival of Shane, Ryan, Arianna and Sierra - the grandkids. And then with the arrival of yet another generation - Ambrosia, Brayden and Fayte, the great grands.
“Sadness came into my life with the loss of my parents in 1994; my companion and best friend, Glen, in 1999. Our lives are anchored in the earth, but all the while, the wind whispers a promise of freedom — freedom to follow the distant drummer. Rejoice in freedom — weep not for me.”
