The Bronco jayvees rallied back from a 17-2 deficit in the first quarter to take a 27-25 win over the Wallace jayvees in two quarters of action Saturday.
John Kitt scored the lone bucket for the Broncs in the first period. Wallace played a game the night before and were ready to play, Coach Dave Kuhlen said.
In the second quarter, the Broncs settled in to hold Wallace to just eight points while pouring in 25.
The most exciting shot came when Kitt fed the ball inside to Bo Fanning who hit a jumper just before the buzzer to give Wauneta-Palisade the 27-25 win on the Wildcats’ hardwood.
Ryan Fischer led the scoring with 9, followed by Fanning with 8, Brett Klima with 5, Brendan Geier with 3 and Kitt with 2.
