|Valley Bank announces new senior vice president|

Valley Bank and Trust Co., a community minded and full service bank with several locations in Nebraska and Fort Collins, has announced its selection of Matt Elvehjem as its new senior vice president.
Elvehjem will serve to lead commercial lending efforts in western Nebraska, as well as generate greater awareness to community banking and high service level that Western States Bank has successfully established.
“Matt [Elvehjem] is a valuable addition to the Valley Bank and Trust Co. team,” said Craig Ockers, President and CEO of Valley Bank and Trust Co. “His vast range of expertise in the field and community-oriented attitude will allow us to further enhance our service to the area.”
Elvehjem brings more than 15-years banking experience to Valley Bank and Trust Co. Most recently, he held the position of vice president business banker—location lead at Lake Area Bank in Minnesota and has served as senior vice president and branch president at other banks throughout the state.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from St. Cloud State University and has continued his education at University Wisconsin-Madison Graduate School of Banking, WBA Loan Compliance School and WBA Residential Mortgage Lending School.
Elvehjem is also active in the community as an associate board member of the Youth Service Bureau and former president of Forest Lake Rotary.
