The small-town charm of Palisade was evident Saturday when village members hosted a day of fun for everyone. Called “Old Fashioned Christmas,” the event began with bingo at the Legion Hall hosted by the Community Service Club and included a table covered with prizes, enough for everyone to win at least one. Cookies, peanut brittle and coffee were served.
Kids were entertained by a cartoon movie at the Palisade Auxiliary Hall hosted by the Pioneer Days Committee.
Then, the excitement ramped up at the Auxiliary Hall with the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus who took time out of their busy schedule to add to the all-important Christmas list. Wide-eyed youngsters visited with Santa and were given a treat bag by Mrs. Claus afterward.
Santa and Mrs. Claus thanked husband and wife team Chuck and Susie McKinney for working so closely with them this year.
