Frenchman Valley Coop donated $10,000 last week to the Nebraska FFA Foundation to support local FFA Chapters, Wauneta-Palisade included. The donations will promote community service projects including classroom and leadership programs in conjunction with the mission of the Nebraska FFA Foundation which is, “...to enhance quality education/FFA programs in order to achieve excellence in leadership development, curriculum innovation and scholastic advancement of students.”
The Wauneta-Palisade Chapter of FFA received a donation of $850 from Frenchman Valley Coop (FVC) on Thursday, Dec. 3.
Cameo Rector, chapter president, said the funds will be used toward the “Grow Our Greenhouse” project with the aim of constructing a greenhouse on school property in Wauneta.
“We are thankful for the awesome support.” Rector said. “It’s very exciting to see how much the local chapter has grown since my freshman year when I joined.”
FVC representative CEO Doug Ohlson expressed he was proud to be able to assist the local FFA adding, “We appreciate being invited here. Wauneta-Palisade FFA is a strong organization that we are glad to support.” FVC Customer Service Director Leann Weiss, also present, echoed that sentiment.
WP FFA sponsors Rod Gaston and Teresa Hayes also wanted to thank FVC for their support of not only the greenhouse project but also of other FFA projects in the works.
