The Wauneta Breeze
The price of gas in Wauneta has fallen below the national average and even below gas prices in the surrounding area. At $1.97 and $1.98, both Wauneta Crossroads and Wauneta’s Frenchman Valley Coop, respectively, were well under the $2.08 national average on Sat., Nov. 21 and even further below the average for regular in Neb., according to AAA, which was $2.17.
Nathan Pelster, who bought gas at Crossroads Saturday, said he “hadn’t seen prices this low for a while, at least six months.” Jaime Hiett of Wauneta said she “hoped it would last.”
Everyone interviewed said they were glad to see the price of gas drop but that their holiday plans would not be affected if prices rose.
