It’s time to get serious about registering for the 37th Annual Chase County Fair Run. Entry fees go up after Aug. 7.
The 10K, 5K, one mile run/walk and half mile kids’ run will be held Aug. 15, beginning at Chase County Schools in Imperial for the third year.
The course is the same as last year, also ending at the school. The 5K course circles the east side of Imperial on paved streets, and the one-mile run/walk is also on city streets.
The 10K course is a double loop of the 5K course. The kids run on the school track.
On race day, check in and registration begin at 6:30 a.m. All races but the kids’ race begin at 7:30 a.m., while the children begin their race at 8:45 a.m.
At about 9 a.m. awards will be given and prizes will be drawn, which organizer Jill Moline said are “fabulous.”
Age classes are 13 and under; 14-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69 and 70 plus.
T-shirts will also be given to all participants while the supply lasts.
Moline said the participation level has been close to 200 the last few years.
The entry fee is $15 for adults before Aug. 7 and $18 on race day. All children ages 12 and under enter for free.
Sponsors are Running Times Magazine, Imperial Super Foods, Synergy Total Fitness and McNair Agency, Inc.
