I will be voting for Chuck Hassebrook for Governor this election; I hope many other Nebraskans will do the same. As a farmer in Perkins County, I have studied the candidates and find Mr. Hassebrook to be best suited for the job.
Born and raised on a Nebraska farm, Hassebrook uses “One Nebraska” as his theme. The theme suggests that rural families and communities of western Nebraska should have the same support as eastern bigger cities and industries. “Fairness” is also his goal when it comes to taxes, natural resources and other issues. He cares about the livelihood of all Nebraskans.
Mr. Hassebrook served for 18 years on the Board of Regents, an elected position, where he was able to increase financial support for University students of families with low and modest incomes. As a Regent he also paid attention to University research emphasizing research that benefited family farms and ranches rather than large agribusiness suppliers.
This candidate also supports more early childhood education to ensure our young people achieve the best they can in education today, so they can benefit families and communities tomorrow.
Mr. Hassebrook has extensive experience in supporting small business development to revitalize rural communities, creating new jobs around the state. He supports further ethanol development and other alternative energy options.
As a resident of the small town of Lyons, Nebraska, Chuck Hassebrook understands the needs of rural agriculture and small communities. He is the best candidate for rural Nebraskans as the next Governor.
