The school year for 2014-2015 has hit the ground running! Faculty, students and teachers have been acclimating to the new year, which began Aug. 20.

Like every other school year, students learn, teachers teach, seasonal sports start and the seniors start facing the reality of their grade status.

One of the routine things done at school is the election of class officers. Class fund raisers are also chosen to prepare the class budget for hosting the best prom in high school history.

Along with a new bell system, the high school received new carpet in the school’s main hallway and right outside of the office.

Throughout the year, the school supports Box Tops. In each class from first grade up to 12th grade, the students bring in as many box tops as they can.

The class who gathers the most Box Tops throughout the year earns a prize. Last year’s winners were the first graders, who received a pizza party.

Many of the classes and extra curricular activities will be doing fund raisers throughout the year.

All classes usually sell magazines, bracelets, hats, sweat pants, etc. All sports teams sell posters with the years schedule and players displayed on them. Cheerleaders sell shirts, FFA and band members sell meats, desserts, fruit etc.

The 2014-2015 school year has barely begun, and is already showing promise for an amazing and memorable year.
