Patrons of Wauneta’s Chateau Theatre are in for a special treat next Thursday with a special Broadway on Screen showing of the play, “Driving Miss Daisy.” The special showing, sponsored by the Wauneta Chamber, is offered as part of the annual Harvest Festival celebration.
Alfred Uhry’s Pulitzer Prize winning play “Driving Miss Daisy” tells the story of a long relationship between an elderly southern woman and her African-American chauffeur.
The Broadway production of the play was shot for screen viewing on its Australian tour, after the show had sell-out seasons on Broadway and on London’s West End.
The play stars five-time Tony Award and three-time Academy Award nominee Angela Lansbury and two-time Tony Award winner and Academy Award winner James Earl Jones.
The show starts at 7 p.m. MT/8 p.m. CT on Thursday, July 24. Tickets will be $10 and available at the door.
