The busy alumni weekend was a success. Honor class members and alumni who returned to Wauneta for the event had many things to keep them busy.
The Alumni Committee, Chamber and School joined forces to provide a full day of entertainment where alums were provided several ways to catch up and get reacquainted with the town and school.
The Chamber kicked off Saturday’s festivities with a complementary “Welcome Home” luncheon at the American Legion. Approximately 50 alumni members attended the lunch.
Next up, the Chamber sponsored tours of the Chateau Theatre, allowing those who live away from Wauneta the chance to see upgrades made at the theatre.
Before the banquet, the school provided tours of the Wauneta Attendance Center.
Approximately 130 attended the evening banquet, though none were there from the Class of 1944 there was a large group from the Class of 1949.
The event was organized by Shane Anderson, Sara Bardsley and Mandy Buderus of the Class of 1999. Lindsay Anderson also helped pull off the banquet.
Mandy Buderus served as Master of Ceremonies.
Shane Anderson welcomed alumni to the evening’s festivities.
Aaron Keiser provided the invocation.
Entertainment at the banquet was provided by WP music teachers Aaron and Sara Behrends.
Catering for the meal was provided by Imperial Super Foods.
