|Chase County 4-H leader receives state honors|

Amy Gittlein of rural Wauneta received honorable mention recognition for her work as a 4-H volunteer leader. She was among the seven 4-H volunteers from across Nebraska honored by Nebraska Farm Bureau and the 4-H Foundation at Farm Bureau’s 2008 convention in Kearney Dec. 8.
Gittlein, who lives in the Imperial school district northwest of Wauneta, has been a dedicated volunteer for seven years.
She began the Dreamchasers 4-H club and encourages her club members to help the community.
The Lifetime Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Sylvia Fink of Bladen. The Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Steve Wolfe of Kearney.
Farm Bureau established the Salute to Excellence Award with the Nebraska 4-H Foundation in 2003 to provide well-deserved recognition to specific individuals and to the more than 11,000 adult 4-H volunteer leaders who give generously of their time to Nebraska 4-H’ers. The Salute to Excellence awards are endowed through 2012.
