The Wauneta-Palisade Broncos’ track teams travelled to McCook Wednesday, April 23, for the Hayes Center Invitational.

Hannah Nordhausen brought home WP’s only first place finish. Nordhausen’s toss of 108’7” won the discus. Teammate Tailor Lee was third. Lee also placed second in the shot put.

Sydnee Harchelroad placed third in the 100 meter dash, second in the 400 meter dash and fifth in the 800 meter run.

Lesley Towery made her Bronco track debut with a fifth place finish in the 1600 meter run.

For the Bronco boys, Wes Anderjaska was second in the 800 and 1600 meter runs, plus fourth in the 400 meter dash.

Gage Crowell was sixth in the 800 meters and Brody Nord hausen was fourth in the 1600 meters. Landon Jutten was fifth in the high jump.

The boys’ 4x400 meter relay placed third. Members include Nordhausen, Crowell, Jutten and Anderjaska.

The Broncos will travel to Bertrand for the RPAC Meet Friday, May 2.

The regular season will wrap up with the Dundy County-Stratton Twilight Friday, May 9.

The District D9 meet will be in Bertrand Wednesday, May 14. Other teams participating will be Bertrand, Elwood, Eustis-Farnam, Hayes Center, Hitchcock County, Loomis, Maywood, Medicine Valley and Southwest.

The State Track Meet will be May 23 and 24.
