Members of Palisade’s Rural Fire District and fire men and women gathered on Palisade’s main street Monday morning to break ground at the site of the soon-to-be built new Palisade Fire Hall. The first group of individuals to break ground included, from left, Guy Rundback, Palisade Rural Fire District board member, Virgil McClatchey, Rural Fire District board member, Tom Monnahan, Rural Fire District Secretary/Treasurer, Clayton Giesbrecht with C & S Construction of Grant, Byron Alberts, Rural Fire District Vice President, Jason Hicks, Palisade Village Chair, Shad Wiese, Palisade Fire and Rescue Chief, Rodney Hunt, Palisade Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief and Bruce Licht, Rural Fire District President.

Fire men and women in attendance at the groundbreaking ceremony were next to dig in. Palisade Fire and Rescue members present included, below from left, Kirk Gates, Reid Ott, Tom Monnahan, Richard Miner, Kerry Miller, Jason Hicks, Shad Wiese and Rodney Hunt. More information about the new fire and ambulance barn in Palisade will be included in an upcoming issue of the Breeze.
