The Wauneta-Palisade track teams had another pleasant Saturday for a track meet last week when it traveled to Sutherland.
Wes Anderjaska anchored the boys’ team, placing first in the 1600 meters, second in the 800 meters and fourth in the 400 meters.
For the girls, Abbie Fanning placed second in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 400 meters, all behind Minden’s Addison Woodward.
Fanning was third in the long jump.
Sydnee Harchelroad was second in the 800 meters and fourth in the 400 meters.
Tailor Lee was fourth in the shot put and fifth in the discus.
Hannah Nordhausen was second in the discus.
Coach Dawn Doetker said it was great weather, but a tough meet.
“I’m proud of our teams. We had some great finishes,” said Doetker, “We are working together and growing with confidence each week.”
Eight of the 12 team members have set personal records so far this season, including Harchelroad in the high jump, Fanning in the long jump, Strand in the discus, E. Lee in the shot and discus, Anderjaska in the 400 and 800, B. Nordhausen in the 100 and 800, Davis in the high jump, discus and 400 and Crowell in the shot put.
After traveling to Dundy County-Stratton Tuesday the team will be at Perkins County Saturday.
