The local chapter of the Ike’s will join Game & Parks in coordinating a clean-up day at Enders Lake Saturday, April 26.
Beau Licking, G&P superintendent at Enders Lake, said he’s excited to see the cooperation between the organizations.
The effort will begin at 9 a.m. MT and run through 3 p.m. MT, with the Ike’s providing lunch for the volunteers.
He said G&P will provide trash bags for trash pickup and paint and brushes for some painting projects.
One of the focuses of the day will be to thin trees from Area B. This is the area straight south of Enders.
Licking said G&P plans to do some clearing there but he didn’t know when their heavy equipment would be available.
If anyone is willing to bring equipment to clear the area, he would welcome it. A tractor with a grapple fork would be especially useful, he added.
He asked volunteers who plan to help to call him or leave a message to help provide a count for the Ike’s lunch.
He can be reached at 308-530-2648 or at the Enders shop at 308-394-5118. A rain date of May 3 has been set in case it does happen to rain on the 26th.
Licking said they are upgrading the electrical pedestals in the area south of the north boat docks.
Upon completion, each pedestal with have 20- 30- and 50-amp hookups.
In addition, six new pedestals will be installed, including four on new and existing handicapped-accessible pads.
The electrical project will be complete in time for the Memorial Day weekend holiday.
