After many years of service the old scorer’s table in the Wauneta-Palisade gym has been replaced.
Heading into basketball season the school’s administration agreed it was time for a new table.
After checking on prices and finding that purchasing a new one would cost $2,500 dollars, Superintendent Randy Geier and Athletic Director Joseph Frecks talked to the Wauneta-Palisade custodial staff.
“With cuts to state aid we want to cut costs and run our school as efficiently as possible,” said Geier.
Everyone agreed this project was right up Straub’s alley.
Geier and Frecks agreed that Straub did a great job.
“It’s way better than anything we could have bought,” said Frecks.
Art instructor Chad Cochran put the finishing touches on the table by staining and sanding the top.
The school is able to reuse the original banner that goes around the front of the table and Susie’s Creative Stitches made a pad to cover the base.
The staff completed the project for around $400 and got it done quickly.
Straub began the project around the first of November and the table was ready when the Broncos hosted Ogallala Saturday.
