The south divide has seen its share of hail in the past couple of weeks. Here Trace Bley, son of Jeremy and Kara, stands next to a drift of hail almost as high as his waist on Avenue 350 between Road 724 and Road 723. The hail stones formed drifts intertwined with corn stocks and dirt as they were washed down the road during the storm. The photo below shows the size of the individual hail stones using Lloyd Bley’s hands as a reference. The photos were taken at approximately 9 a.m. MT Tuesday morning after Monday night’s storm. Farmers in the area lost part of their crops in the area after last week’s hail and this hail took out quite a bit more, including some new fields. One redeeming quality was those on either side of the hail reported 3-4 inches of rain, according to Lloyd Bley. (Courtesy Photos | Durenda Bley)
