The Wauneta Breeze
The town of Wauneta has a lot to be proud of–coming from tough beginnings and continuously weathering storms over the course of the past 125 years.
The second section of the Wauneta Breeze’s 125th Anniversary Edition is included with this week’s paper. The second section of the 125 anniversary edition takes a closer look at the community in the early 1900s.
Its pages take readers for a walk through the transformations and progress made in education, on main street, with community clubs, early businesses and organizations. It also highlights municipal projects area residents took on in the early 1900s that paved the way for municipal comforts we enjoy to this day.
The Breeze’s 125th Anniversary Edition has been undertaken by Breeze staff under the leadership of former managing editor Tina Kitt.
Kitt has compiled hundreds of photos and accounts of Wauneta’s early years over the course of the past couple of decades and shares her findings with Breeze readers in the special edition.
Due to the amount of information to report on Wauneta’s first 125 years, the special edition will be released in sections. The first section was included with the March 28 issue of the Breeze. Additional sections will be released every 2-3 weeks until the special edition is completed in mid-May.
Those interested in purchasing additional copies of the 125th edition may do so during the week that section is released for $1, the cost for the week’s newspaper.
Purchases made after the week a section is released can be made at a cost of $2.00 per section or $10 for the entire edition, once completed, tax is included in the purchase price and shipping costs will be in addition to the prices listed here.
