|Speech team medals at RPAC|

Wauneta-Palisade finished 11th out of 14 teams at the RPAC speech meet Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Medicine Valley.
Araphaoe won the meet, scoring 153 points, placing two in six of the nine events.
W-P scored 36 points.
Tom McGraw, Informative Speaking, and the Oral Interpretation of Drama team advanced to finals and each performance placed second.
In a tie for third heading into finals, McGraw finished with 96 points, three points behind first place and one point ahead of third place.
The OID team of Nicole Strand, Cassidy Rathe, Cameo Rector, Leiauna Alberts and Ellie Lee were in a tie for second place at the end of the preliminary round.
The team tied for first in the finals but the tie-breaker gave first place to Wallace.
Also competing for W-P at the meet were Landon Jutten (Entertainment), Cody Hicks (Extemporaneous), Rector (Humorous Prose), Rathe (Serious Prose). Jutten and Hicks performed in the Duet Acting Category.
The speech team will perform again Saturday at McCook Community College.
March 2 the team will travel to North Platte. Speech Night at the Chateau will be March 9 and District Speech will be held at the Wauneta Attendance Center Thursday, March 14.
