Looking for information on events or game times at Wauneta-Palisade Schools? Just turn to their newly-unveiled web site at www.waunetapalisadeschools.org.
Under the direction of teachers Jill Hurtt, Betsy Johanson and Kathryn Pruter, Wauneta-Palisade Schools sport a state-of-the-art look on the Internet with a new web site that just went live last week.
Hurtt said the school used an outside developer for the primary development of the site, including the school logo and overall layout.
From there, the trio developed the pages that cover all aspects of the school from administration and faculty to the school calendar and student news.
Hurtt said the school has full editing capabilities and updates the site daily.
A pair of scroll lines outline notices and events of activities of interest to parents, patrons and students.
Superintendent Randy Geier said the web site gives the school another way of communicating with parents and patrons about the school.
The site also includes a page for the school board, with meeting dates, agendas and minutes, all available online.
Hurtt said several teachers have already created their own pages focusing specifically on their own classrooms and related extra-curricular activities, such as FFA, music and sports.
The site also features quick links to student news, the Bronco Beat and the school calendar.
Clicking on the WP Student News link takes visitors to the weekly video prepared by the students.
Using iPads to record and edit the video, students capture information on students of the week and other events going on at the school. The video’s then posted to the web site. The site also includes an archive of previous weekly videos recorded during the year.
Hurtt said the web site will continue to evolve throughout the remainder of the school year.
