Over 100 people took part in Palisade’s Old Fashioned Christmas last Saturday, Dec. 8.
The afternoon kicked off with Bingo, sponsored by the C.S. Club, at the Legion Hall. Ray Ridlen called Bingo to a full room.
At 1:30 p.m. CT the kids joined in the fun when they sat down to watch the movie, “Brave.”
The movie was sponsored by the Friends of the Library, popcorn was donated by SWPPD and the Lions Club provided pop for the movie watchers.
After the movie Santa himself arrived to join the festivities. Santa had gifts for the young and old, thanks to a little help from his elves with the Friends of the Library.
Well over 90 people were in attendance for the prize drawings.
After the visit from Santa and drawings for prizes from the Friends of the Library, the crowd moved to the Legion Auxiliary Hall for a soup and dessert supper sponsored by the Hamlet Union Church.
The day’s finale was the lighting of the town’s Christmas tree.
