With the volleyball season winding down, the Wauneta-Palisade Lady Broncos hosted Dundy County-Stratton and Maywood Thurday.

The Lady Broncos opened the evening sweeping 1-21 Maywood, 25-13, 25-6.

All 15 team members saw action in the match.

Abbie Fanning had four kills in five attacks and Emma Skelton had three kills in four attacks.

Tailor Lee and Sydnee Harchelroad each added three kills and Brooklyn Nordhausen had two.

Skelton had eight assists and one service ace. Harchelroad had three aces.

Following the match the two Tiger teams met, resulting in a Dundy County-Stratton sweep.

Wauneta-Palisade and Dundy County-Stratton wrapped up the evening.

The Lady Broncos came out strong and Dundy County-Stratton had trouble with the pace after facing Maywood.

The home team picked up a 25-16 first set win.

Dundy County-Stratton got with it in the second set, pulling away 25-18 and won the match with a 25-16 third set win.

Lee and Fanning each earned seven kills. Harchelroad had four.

Skelton had 10 assists.

Harchelroad and Brianna Einspahr each had two aces.

Harchelroad had three solo blocks while Fanning, Nordhausen and Lee each had two.

Now 9-9, the Lady Broncos will travel to Paxton for the first and second rounds of the RPAC volleyball tournament Monday, Oct. 15.

With a win over 6-8 Wallace, Wauneta-Palisade would face Paxton in the second round. As the number one seed in the West bracket, Paxton receives a first round bye.

Wauneta-Palisade will face Wallace again Tuesday, Oct. 23, when it hosts the Wildcats.

Subdistrict volleyball begins Monday Oct. 29 in McCook. Teams in the Lady Broncos subdistrict are Hayes Center (5-15), Maywood (1-21), Medicince Valley (10-6) and Wallace.
