Wauneta-Palisade students will enjoy independently temperature controlled classrooms soon thanks to a recent decision by the school board.

A Snell Services employee, above, works to install the new units in a classroom at the Wauneta Attendance Center. The individual units will allow teachers to control the temperature in their classrooms.

Superintendent Randy Geier said these units are a good choice for the school because,  in addition to acting as air conditioners for the classrooms, they can also heat classrooms. He said this is especially handy for teachers in the fall when it is cool in the morning but not quite cool enough to turn on the school’s boiler.

Geier expects installation of the units to be completed by the end of the week. Pivot Electric is updating and adding to the wiring in both attendance centers. Electrical work will remain after the units are installed.
