School may not have started yet, but there’s been a lot of activity at the school this week with the start of the fall sports season.
Volleyball opened the week with conditioning followed by a camp for girls in grades 4 to 8.
Fifteen Lady Broncos spent Tuesday morning in the gym before the floor was restripped and varnished to repair flaws from the earlier refinishing.
The Lady Broncos continued conditioning in the Wauneta pool last night and tonight before practice moves to Palisade next week.
Football practices also began Monday as the team prepares for the move to six-man.
New coach Joseph Frecks said he and fellow coach Randy Geier are excited to get practices going.
Frecks added that he thinks the kids are excited for the challenge of six-man and that it should be a fun year.
Sixteen athletes reported for the football season.
The football team works on defensive drills at its first practice of the season Monday.
Following conditioning the volleyball team works with camp participants Monday.
