The Wallace Christian Women’s Club will be “Walking in a Winter Wonderland” on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012. Join friends, neighbors and family at the Wallace Community Hall beginning at 10 a.m. CT for a mini music concert by Janice Huber. There will be music to brighten the morning and lighten the spirit along with the continental breakfast.
Janice will be sharing her music and also her story of “Singing in spite of the storms.” Janice was born in Sutherland, Neb., but lived in Eugene, Mo., until she was six years old when her family moved back to North Platte. She has three sisters and one brother and they all have been singing since they were very small.
Janice was involved in music and choirs in school. She learned to play guitar from her dad and was in a small band with her dad, brother and a friend for a while. Then in the early ’80s she was part of a country western band that played many area events. She loves to sing and has shared her music whenever she is given the opportunity. She was married for 28 years until her husband Mick was killed in an accident. She has two children and two grandchildren.
Free baby-sitting is available with reservations. Don’t let the winter blahs get you down - come “Walking in a Winter Wonderland” in Wallace and bring your friends!! It is a great way to start the New Year!!
