The Chase County 4-H Market Beef Weigh-In is set for Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Imperial at Imperial Livestock Auction Market.
All Chase County 4-H and FFA members planning to exhibit market heifers or market steers in a 4-H show this year are required to weigh-in, tag and identify their projects at this time.
Any youth planning to exhibit at the Nebraska State Fair or Ak-Sar-Ben Livestock Exposition will also be required to collect hair samples for DNA purposes. There will be a $6.00 handling fee for each animal identified to exhibit at these shows.
If you cannot make it to the market beef weigh-in in Imperial, you need to make arrangements to weigh, tag and identify at one of the other beef weigh-ins within the Southwest Four Counties. Please call Kimberly Cook, Extension Educator at your local UNL Extension Office if you need to make these arrangements.
For more information, please contact the UNL Extension Office at (308)882-4731 or (800)291-5309.
