|New teachers on staff at WP|

There are four new faces among the faculty members at Wauneta-Palisade Schools for the 2011-12 school year — Justin Bernhardt, Patti Holmberg, Betsy Johanson and Janessa Wood.
This week Breeze readers will have a chance to get to know Bernhardt and Holmberg. Profiles of Johanson and Wood were included in the Nov. 17 issue of the Breeze.
Justin Bernhardt is the new high school weights and elementary physical education teacher. He also is the new head football coach.
He grew up in Gering and in Montana.
He graduated from Montana State College with a bachelor’s degree in history education.
Bernhardt’s previous work experience includes three years at Rocky Mountain College, one year coaching wide receivers, one year as quarterback/wide receivers passing game coordinator and one year coaching defensive backs.
He taught for two years at Wallace High School as a social studies teacher.
Bernhardt also served five years with the United States Marine Corps - Infantry.
Bernhardt enjoys playing with his German Shepard, Foxie, watching football, reading and weight training.
Patti Holmberg is Wauneta-Palisade’s Title 1 reading teacher.
She is married to Troy Holmberg who is the principal at Wauneta-Palisade.
She also has two children, Alicia 8, and Kyle 7.
Holmberg’s hometown is Newport, Neb.
She graduated from Rock County High School in Bassett.
Holmberg obtained a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She then received her Special education endorsement from Wayne State.
Holmberg spent several years after college and before teaching, working with people with developmental disabilities.
Holmberg is very happy to join the staff at Wauneta - Palisade schools.
