Traveling to Brady Friday for Bronco football, it was another numbers-and-size game.

Brady kicked off to the Broncos’ Bo Fanning who carried the ball for 15 yards.

The offensive series started out with a Bronco illegal procedure call, but quarterback Connor Kayton then hit Hayden Pollmann on a 16-yard first-down pass.

Coach Justin Bernhardt called on hard running Bo Fanning for another eight-yard gain. At second-down-and-two-yards, Kayton took off after being rushed from the pocket for a first down, then mistakes and a big defensive Eagle stand and Trey Lusk’s first-quarter interception put the score Eagles 7, Broncos 0.

The Broncos continued to falter with Brady taking over with a strong running game to put the Broncos down 14-0. Frustrated, the Broncos saw penalties and mistakes, but continued to hang in there. Brady’s Michael Neiman scored on a seven-yard run.The Broncs denied the Eagles on their points-after attempt to hold them at 20-0.

After Brady’s kick off W/P went to their running game and hit a wall of Eagles. The first quarter ended with the Eagles in command 20-0.

With one minute forty-three seconds gone in the second quarter Brady’s Neiman went 65 yards on a TD sprint. The successful points-after play moved the score to 28-0.

The Broncos’ breakdown continued and at 5:58 Brady picked off a Kayton pass and returned the ball to WP’s six-yard line. On the following play Brady’s Sawyer Burke carried the ball in for the touchdown, with the PAT good for a 36-0 ball game.

The Eagles kept flying high, stopping the Broncos in four downs.

Two successful passes and another TD, and PAT put the Eagles’ lead at 44-0 going into the halftime break.

Following the second half kick-off, the Broncos were unable to move the ball. The Eagles took over at midfield, scored another TD after two tough runs putting the game at 52-0 with a successful PAT.

Fanning returned Brady’s kick-off for a 40-yard gain. With Bronco QB Kayton scrambling to make something happen, Brady’s Lincoln Blede pulled down another interception, running the ball in for an Eagle TD. Trailing 60-0, WP took the kick-off and made an effort to get their offense working before the end of quarter.

WP quartback Connor Kayton looks for an open receiver as he drops back to pass earlier this season.

Running by Fanning and pass completions to Reese West set up the Broncs’ only touchdown of the night, with Fanning going 12 yards to score. On the PAT Kayton connected with Logan Bischoff on a pass play for a 60-8 ball game.

The fourth quarter found both teams being hampered by penalties and miscues, unable to put together anything as the clock ran out, with the final score Brady Eagles 60, Wauneta-Palisade Broncos 8.

With the win Brady moves their record to 4-2 while the Broncs fall to 0-6.

This week the Broncos travel to Eustis Friday night to face an 0-6 Eustis-Farnam Knight squad, with both teams battling to mark their first win of the season.

Kickoff Friday night is set for 6:30 p.m. MT/7:30 p.m. CT.
