Few things can bring a smile to a kid’s face like a sunshine-filled recess and watermelon. Wauneta-Palisade first grader Seth Mercer beams from ear to ear as he enjoys a slice of BWTelcom watermelon last week.

BWTelcom’s Randall Raile and Gary McKain, at right, cut into juicy watermelons at the Wauneta Attendance Center as youngsters wait with anticipation. BWTelcom’s watermelon feed is an annual event at both Wauneta and Palisade as well as at the Dundy County-Stratton Public Schools attendance center sites.
