This Sunday at the Chase County Museum, Alvin Christensen will present a program featuring the “Mechanical Development of Sporting and Military Firearms from 1700 to 1945.”

Christensen’s interest in firearms developed from hunting with his father as a boy. He grew up on a farm east of Wauneta and continued his interest through the years. He favors guns from 1870 to 1910.

In 2009, Christensen won the 300-yard National Black Powder Rifle Contest. He will bring representative firearms from 1850 to modern times.

Any person with questions about any Winchester, may bring the model number and serial number to the Museum on Sunday, and Christensen will try to answer all questions.

Museum hours on Sunday will be 1 to 4 p.m.
