‘Images of Nebraska’ photo contest kicks off in July PDF Print E-mail

The Chase County Hospital Foundation in cooperation with Chase County Community Hospital is sponsoring the third annual “Images of Nebraska” photo contest.

According to Randy Vlasin, executive director of the Chase County Hospital Foundation, “We have had really good response the past two years and I encourage the shutterbugs out there to take part in this event.”

The contest is for amateur photographers and submissions are being accepted through from July 8 through Aug. 1, 2011. Results of the contest will be made public in early August.

In general, all photos must be taken in Nebraska and relate to one of the following subject areas: agriculture, wildlife, landmarks, architecture, landscapes or scenery.

There are four divisions in which photos can be submitted: (1) Nebraska division— Photos from anywhere in Nebraska, (2) Chase County— Photos from Chase County only, (3) Vintage—photos that are 40 years old or older, and (4) Youth division—Photos taken by youths 12 and under and must relate to Nebraska or Chase County.

Prizes will be awarded with $50 going to each division winner not selected for overall reserve or grand champion, $75 to reserve and $100 to grand champion.

In addition, the winning photos from each division will be displayed in the Chase County Community Hospital and Clinics during the coming year. Some photos may be used in other hospital publications.

Photos can be submitted in digital format or brought to the hospital if already printed.
