Palisade Pioneers Days 2011 have arrived. The town’s weekend community celebration will be in full swing Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 10-12.

The theme for this year’s Pioneer Days is “WILD, LOUD & PROUD — WILD about our community, LOUD about our future, PROUD of our past!” Organizers say this year’s event is shaping up to be one of the best Pioneer Days celebrations ever, with something in store for everyone.

Events for the Pioneer Days weekend kick off this Friday evening with the Alumni & Friends Banquet.

Craig Larsen

The banquet speaker is Craig Larsen, dubbed a “funny man/story teller.”

Some of the banquet’s $17 tickets remain, which include the meal and entertainment or you can pay $5 at the door just to hear Larsen share his world view and life philosophy, offering a unique twist. To inquire about a banquet ticket call Lisa Kisinger at 308-737-7778.

Pioneer Days’ main event is Saturday, with the day chock full of events including a morning parade, kiddy carnival, free barbecue and dancing to a live band.

Palisade’s celebration concludes on Sunday with a community carry-in picnic at the park followed by a gospel songfest at the Church of Christ.
