|Imperial’s Frasier wins barrels at McCook|

Shelby Frasier of rural Imperial took first place in the barrel competition in the Sunday go of the Southwest Nebraska High School Rodeo held in McCook last weekend.
Frasier turned in a time of 15.738 seconds for the win. In Saturday’s go, she was 15th with a time of 16.795. A 15.915 won the event Saturday.
Frasier also placed fourth in the poles Sunday with a time of 21.136 against a winning time of 20.53.
She added an eighth and seventh place finish in the cutting with 65 points on Saturday and 70 points on Sunday. A 73 won the event both days.
Jordyn Doetker of Wauneta took 10th in the cutting both days with a score of 63.
The highest finish for Kelsey Wood of Imperial came in the breakaway roping Sunday, when she captured third. She turned in a time of 4.13 seconds against the winning time of 3.24.
On Saturday, she was 12th in the barrels with a 16.654 and 18th on Sunday with a 16.832.
She took 21st in the poles on Saturday with a 25.195 against a winning time of 21.291 and 26th on Sunday with a 27.486.
Wood also finished 12th in Saturday’s team roping with her partner Sadie Stec of Bassett with a time of 24.450 compared to the winning time of 8.33 seconds.
This weekend, high school rodeos will be held in Hyannis on Saturday and Arthur on Sunday.
