The University of Nebraska-Lincoln granted degrees to approximately 2,800 students from 47 states, Puerto Rico and 43 countries May 6 and 7 in separate commencement ceremonies for baccalaureate, graduate and law degrees.
Patrick Dussault, Charles Bessey professor and professor of chemistry, addressed the May 6 postgraduate ceremony. Zheng Nanning, president of Xi’an Jiaotong University in China, addressed the baccalaureate ceremony and received an honorary doctor of science on May 7. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas addressed the law graduates, also on May 7.
Ashley Kitt, daughter of Keenan and Tina Kitt of Wauneta, graduated from the College of Law with a juris doctor degree.
