|W-P takes top honors in Division 3 at MCC Inter-High Day|

Decatur County, Southern Valley and Wauneta-Palisade high schools topped a field of 25 area schools to claim top honors at McCook Community College’s Inter-High Day competition April 6 on the MCC campus.
More than 600 area students competed for more than $30,000 in scholarships.
Southern Valley claimed the Division 1 title over McCook and Cozad. Decatur County won the Division 2 title over Quinter and Dundy County-Stratton. Wauneta-Palisade won the Division 3 title over Eustis-Farnam and Hitchcock County.

Of the 25 schools competing for academic honors, students from 23 schools earned scholarships.
First-place winners in each category won $500 scholarships to MCC. This year, underclassmen who won their category can carry their scholarships forward. In addition all students who placed in the top three receive a $250 scholarship good for summer classes at MCC.

Fire Science – 1. Shelby Hamilton.
Graphic Design – 3. Desiree Washum.
