|Bronco cheerleaders heading to state|

This year the Bronco Cheerleaders; Ayla Rector, Joselyn Ramirez, Alondra Almanza and Coach Sutherland, wanted to take on the challenge of performing at the 2011 Nebraska State Cheer and Dance Competition which will be held February 18 and 19 in Grand Island, Nebraska.
The Cheer and Dance Competition includes different categories which cheerleaders can perform that include some of the following; sideline cheer, pom, crowd cheers, tumbling, hip-hop, jazz and dance routine. The Bronco Cheerleaders decided they wanted to perform in the dance routine and crowd cheer division. The rules for the cheer section includes, crowd leading ability, practicality and skills, execution and difficulty. Music section includes jumps, dance and formations/spacing. Overall Presentation includes synchronization and choreography, overall effect and sportsmanship.
The girls are working hard to choreograph a minute and a half dance routine, which will be performed to the song “Hot N Cold Mix” by Katy Perry and also a couple of crowd cheers to impress the judges and to show off how well the girls can work with the crowd and get them excited.
The Cheerleaders have also been raising money through a cake raffle which was held on February 8 against Chase County Longhorns. The girls also raffled off a one of a kind Bronco Cheer Doll, designed by Rhonda Sutherland. The Bronco Doll is wearing a Bronco Cheer uniform and comes with two more outfits. The drawing for the doll was held on February 11 game against Maywood. Proceeds from both raffles will help the Bronco Cheer and Dance Squad cover expenses for the cheer and dance competition.
“We are very excited to go to the cheer competition; it will be a fun experience we will always remember.”
