The Wauneta-Palisade foods class wanted to raise money to cook/ bake more during class and thought that having a dessert raffle would be a fun and easy way to meet their goal. The students talked to Mr. Holmberg about the raffle, which gave the foods class a week to prepare the desserts. Ms. Hudson broke the students into four groups.
Group 1: Shelby, Jenae, and Jonee made the pineapple upside down cake.
Group 2: Drew, Carlos Colby, Reese prepared an apple pie.
Group 3: Joselyn and Melinda made a peach pie.
Group 4: Cody, Shasta, Alondra prepared a blueberry and strawberry pie.
Ms. Hudson helped the foods class by making a carrot/coconut cake, so there would be more variety. After all the desserts were made the students set up the tables for the raffle in the front lobby of the school.
Joselyn, Shelby, Jenae, and Jonee made a Foods Class Dessert Raffle poster and cleaned the tables. The tickets were one dollar for one ticket and five dollars for six tickets.
The foods class had an amazing number of donations. The winners of the desserts were, Kerry Hamilton, Peggy Minneman, John Anderjaska, Tony Cribelli, Halle Bardsley, and Lisa Harris.
The foods class made $166 and would like to thank everyone who donated money to the dessert raffle.
