Two $500 scholarships will be offered to graduating seniors from Imperial, Wauneta and Benkelman, and who reside in Chase or Dundy County.

The applicants must be planning to pursue a degree in an ag-related field.

The scholarships are in memory of Herbert J. Hughes, one of the founders of the National Association of Wheat Growers, the Chase-Dundy Wheat Growers Association and the Nebraska-Wyoming Wheat Growers Association.

A trust has been established to memorialize his name. The purpose of the trust is for scholarships to students enrolling in agriculture-related fields.

Applications will be due April 1.
