Everyone is looking forward to State FBLA which takes place April 7-9 in Omaha. All the members of FBLA are assigned to create a cover letter, resume and a job application before heading to state.
Mrs. Spickelmier, the advisor of the Wauneta-Palisade FBLA, is in charge of the students for the long journey.
When the members first get to Omaha they dine at a fine restaurant, where their advisor will explain eating etiquettes. The members then return to their hotel, where they begin preparation for the conference.
Once the State FBLA conference begins students will be taking tests they choose and participate in the interview process for the Merit Corporation.
All members are to attend one seminar of their choice which they will discuss with the other members on what they learned. The FBLA members are responsible to be on time for the tests, so their tests score will be available.
On Friday night the members of FBLA enjoy a dance which cost only a dollar or free if you wear your FBLA t-shirt.
On the last day of State FBLA, members come forward to receive their awards for outstanding test grades. Also new Nebraska State Officers that were elected participate in an introduction ceremony.
All members have the great experience of networking, learning new business techniques and making new friends.
The Future Business Leaders of America members are Drew Harris, Shelby Hamilton, Joselyn Ramirez, and Jenae Bischoff.
