Students at Wauneta-Palisade Schools began their two-week long Christmas break with an early release Tuesday.
When classes resume on Tuesday, Jan. 6, they’ll wake up to a longer school day, even longer than announced earlier this month by school officials.
In order to meet state requirements, WP administrators earlier announced the need to add 11 extra minutes to the school day, with a 7:50 a.m. to 3:11 p.m. MT schedule announced.
Upon further study, however, school officials determined they needed to add another 10 minutes on the already extended day, announcing a newly revised school day schedule. Beginning Jan. 6, classes will begin at 7:50 a.m. MT and will dismiss at 3:21 p.m. MT.
