| Simpson, Ramirez take gold at Cambridge meet |

Adam Simpson continued his stretch of wins to an even 20-0 over the weekend, taking gold at the Fran Jorgensen Invitational meet at Cambridge on Saturday. Simpson, rated second in Class C’s 215-pound division by the Omaha World-Herald this year, survived a challenge from Cambridge’s Catlin Rice in the finals. Marcos Ramirez also took first place at the meet, taking gold in the 112-pound class, outwrestling Lukas Cox of Alma in the finals. Alex Pollmann, wrestling in the 285-pound class, suffered his first loss of the season, taking second to Dakota Vojta of Loomis-Bertrand. Another Hitchcock County/Wauneta-Palisade wrestler from Hitchcock County, Austin Oberg, finished third in that division. Keagan Haarberg finished second in the 189-pound division, losing in the finals to Gus Petersen of Cambridge. Kaleb Straub finished fourth among the 135-pound wrestlers and James Rundel was fourth in the 140-pound division. No other individual results were available at press time this week. Cambridge won the meet, with Ansley/Arcadia second, Loomis-Bertrand third and HC/WP fourth. Team results are as follows: 1. Cambridge, 264; 2. Ansley/Arcadia, 232; 3. Loomis-Bertrand, 202; 4.
