The Wauneta-Palisade junior high basketball teams have seen a lot of action recently.
The junior high varsity girls are now 1-2 on the season, taking a win over Medicine Valley and a loss to Dundy County-Stratton in action last week.
Against Medicine Valley, WP got out to a 5-0 start after the first quarter. They were able to hold off for a 17-10 win.
Emma Skelton paced the Broncos at MV, chipping in nine points in the game. Tailor Lee added four, Brooklyn Nordhausen three and Cassidy Rathe added a free throw for a point.
Hosting DCS, the Broncos suffered a 33-11 loss at home. Skelton, Nordhausen and Abbie Fanning each had three points and Rathe had two.
The jayvee girls are 2-1 on the season, after taking a win at MV and a loss at home against DCS.
At MV, the Broncos took a solid 17-4 win over the Raiders. Nordhausen led with eight points, Lee added seven and Rathe rounded out scoring with two.
Against DCS at home, the Broncos lost a close one, 8-6. Rathe had four points and Lee had two.
The junior high boys varsity team is still looking for their first win after three contests.
At Perkins County, the varsity suffered a 49-22 loss. Logan Bischoff led the Broncos with 13 points. He was helped out by Jacob Maris with five. Hayden Pollmann and Wes Anderjaska both added two points.
In a road game against MV, the Broncos fell 45-25. Bischoff again led the team with a 12-point effort. Maris again added five points and Pollmann had four. Donald Hunt and Jack McGraw both added two.
Hosting DCS, the Broncos fell 46-19. Bischoff led with seven, followed by Pollmann and McGraw with four apiece and Maris and Hunt chipping in two points each.
The jayvee boys are 1-2, taking a win over MV last week.
At Perkins County, the jayvee boys suffered a 27-13 loss. Hunt led the way with six points. Weylin Davis added five and Pollmann contributed two.
Against MV, the Broncos pulled off a shutout, 12-0. John Christner had six points. Landen Jutten, Tyrel Kerchal and McGraw each added two.
At home against DCS, they suffered a 23-14 loss. Hunt had five points, Jutten four, Lorenzo Cavanaugh three and Davis two.
The Broncos will play host to Chase County on Thursday, Jan. 8, with action set for 1 p.m. MT/2 p.m. CT.
