    Doug and Melody Burr and Phyllis Yoder attended the fall commencement service of The Metropolitan State College of Denver for Kambi Burr Dec. 20 at the Colorado Convention Center.
    Richard and Judy Durham and family were co-hosts with nine other grandchildren and their families for the 90th birthday of their grandmother, Opal Billips of Hills City, Kan., at the Wild Horse Cafe in Bogue, Kan. Over 50 guests attended the open house following dinner.
    Lucille Klima hosted a Christmas coffee Thursday with guests: Audra Romine, Jean Hardy, Norma Fortkamp, Lois Greeley, Melanie Burr and Sharla Klima.
    Jan and Steve Satterlee, Maria and Deidra of Bartlesville, Okla., spent Friday to Monday with Paul and Bonnie Yost. Sunday they were joined by Peg and Mike Vlasin and family and Dwight and Wilma Egle.
    Jim and Sheila Knudson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Jim and Mary Greeley of Colorado Springs, Colo., were guests over the weekend of Floyd and Margaret Greeley.
    Lee Roy and Clairene Weimer attended grandsons Josh and Ben Anderson’s church Christmas program Sunday morning at Zion Lutheran Church in Benkelman. They were Sunday dinner guests in Hugh and Nancy Anderson home.

    Arlene Large and Ruby Kennedy visited Regina Pederson and Rachel Wednesday at Ogallala and toured the Fantasyland display.    
    Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Haarberg were supper guests of Lawrence and Faye Rueter Thursday.
    Verna Sandman, Myra Grimm, Dorothy Steckman, DeLores Taylor, Ruby and Sylvia Ham and Lucille McBride had lunch at The Club Friday, then had dessert in the McBride home.
    Mrs. Ron Kitt, Brandie and Marcie of Ogallala accompanied Marilyn Walker to Lincoln Thursday where they visited Gerald Priest. They returned home Friday evening.
    Mr. and Mrs. Irving Skelton spent Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. James Skelton for a tree trimming.

    At a meeting last week between the village trustees, the members of the Rural High School Board of Education and Supt. C. J. Sutherland approval was given to build the proposed swimming pool in the village park with the high school to secure a new location for the football field.
    Mr. and Mrs. Ed Denker were hosts at a pre-holiday dinner in their home Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Taylor and girls, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Denker and children, Donald Denker and Kurt and Richard Hummel.
    Jim Greeley of Kinross, Mich., is home on leave from the Air Force and is visiting parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Greeley, and other family and friends.
    Mrs. Bernard O’Neil hosted 25 ladies at a pre-Christmas coffee held at her home Wednesday afternoon.
    Mr. and Mrs. Otis Knotwell and Miss Betty spent Sunday evening in the Glenn Fye Sunday. Miss Betty Knotwell who teaches school in California is spending the holidays with family and friends.
    Mr. and Mrs. Ray Einspahr attended the school Christmas program Friday evening in the Enders School where their daughter, Jo Ann, is a teacher.
    The Yuletide season will be observed in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Egle and children with the following guests for Christmas dinner: Mr. and Mrs. Louis Denker and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gauger, Jim and Dotty Gauger, and Rev. and Mrs. Elmer Egle of Culbertson.
    Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cowles and girls will be guests in the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McCallum, June McCallum and Clinton Christmas Day.

    Miss Audra Kerns, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kerns, was awarded a gold medal for winning first place in the championship typewriting event of the stenographic contest last Saturday at Chillicothe (Mo.) Business College.
    Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Walling entertained Mrs. Mary Corwin, Earl DeGarmo and daughter, Margaret Elaine, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Grose and children of Imperial, Mr and Mrs. Fred Haarberg and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Haarberg and daughter at Christmas dinner Monday.
    Mr. and Mrs. Dorsey Resler and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Grosbach and children of Enders ate Christmas turkey at the home of Dr. and Mrs. H.H. Grosbach.
    Mr. and Mrs. Levi Mohler of Norfolk and Phares Mohler of McCook are spending the holidays at the I.G. Mohler home and with other relatives.
    Mr. and Mrs. A. Deininger entertained Mr. and Mrs. Truman Kitt, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hohl and son and Mr. and Mrs. George Hollenbeck of McDonald, Kan., at Christmas dinner Monday.

    Miss Dessie Fanning left for Beaver City on Wednesday to spend the holidays with relatives.
    Dewey Christner fell and dislocated his arm again last week.
    Edna Burham fell over a wire while running Friday evening and broke one of her wrists.
