There’s a new name on the Reinke irrigation dealership in Imperial but a familiar face behind it. Dan Kunnemann and his wife, Sue, have acquired the Reinke Manufacturing dealership for the Imperial area. The dealership will operate as DSK Irrigation.

Kunnemann has represented Reinke for nearly 10 years as the manager of the Reinke irrigation division for Midwest Farm Equipment and then 21st Century Equipment.

Recently, 21st Century Equipment resigned their Reinke dealership in Imperial after purchasing a Valley dealership in Gering.

That created the opportunity for Kunnemann to become the new dealer in this area.

Tim Goldhammer, vice-president of Marketing for Reinke Manufacturing, said they’re excited to bring Kunnemann into their dealership network.

“It will be a win-win-win for everyone — for Dan, for Reinke and for our customers,” he said.

He said Reinke has a large deployment of irrigation pivot systems in the Imperial area and they wanted to insure their customers would have a local dealer they could count on.

Kunnemann’s integrity and attention to customer care and satisfaction makes him a great fit as the new dealer, Goldhammer added.

Busy few weeks

Kunnemann said it’s been a whirlwind the last few weeks as he began efforts to acquire the dealership here.

He spoke highly of Reinke for their desire to keep a local dealer here.

He and Sue have been busy making arrangements and finding office and shop space for the new company.

He said he’s rented office space at 1320 Broadway that formerly housed Mid-Plains Community College.

He plans to use the shop at his farm northwest of Imperial as his shop headquarters for now.

Two employees who have worked with him in the irrigation division, Steve Baker and Justin Mueller, will be joining Kunnemann’s team.

They are handling the service duties during the transition from 21st Century Equipment to DSK Irrigation.

Kunnemann said people needing service or sales information can contact him at 308-882-6838. The new office number will be 308-882-3850.
