| Halloween fun on tap in Wauneta, Palisade and Imperial this weekend |

Halloween is just days away, coming up this Saturday, Oct. 31. A number of eerily fun events are in store in Wauneta, Palisade and Imperial this weekend. • Wauneta Spook House — Beginning on Friday, Oct. 30, and continuing on Saturday, Oct. 31, the Sweet Shop in Wauneta will host its 10th annual Haunted House Halloween weekend with the doors open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Cost of admission is $3 at the door or $2.50 if tickets are purchased by Thursday, Oct. 29. Free refreshments will be served and spook house visitors will receive a glow bracelet with each paid admission. • Imperial Spook House — The Imperial EMS will once again host their Haunted House at the Imperial City Gym on West 8th Street. This year the fun begins on Thursday, Oct. 29, with the spook house open from 7:30 to 10 p.m. MT. On Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31, the EMS spook house is open from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for ages 13 and up; $4 for ages 5-12; and $2 for kids 2 and under. Bring a canned good for the pantry and get $1 off admission. • Holyween Party — On Saturday morning all kids ages 4-12 are welcome to attend a “HOLYWEEN” party at Trinity Lutheran Church in Palisade from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. MT/11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT, with lunch provided. Youngsters are encouraged to wear their costumes and join the fun at Trinity where they will play games, enjoy a video and craft, hear Bible stories and sing. For more information about HOLYWEEN contact Pastor Greg Stuckwisch, Jennifer Fortkamp or Joyce Richter. • Halloween Open House — Imperial Manor/Heights/Parkview will host a Halloween open house Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. MT at 905 and 933 Grant Street in Imperial. • Soup and Dessert Supper — Saturday evening the Wauneta Senior Center will host a Halloween Night Soup and Dessert Supper from 5 to 7 p.m. MT. Cost of the meal is $5 per person. Trick-or-treaters are encouraged to stop by the Senior Center for treats. • Frighteningly Ribalicious Rib Night — A Halloween night special featuring your choice of baby back ribs or prime rib is planned at Tommy’s Sports Club in Wauneta until 10 p.m. MT. You can also order off the menu. • Firemen’s Ball — Capping Saturday night’s events will be the annual Firemen’s Ball, hosted by the Wauneta Volunteer Fire Department. The dance will run from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. MT at the Wauneta American Legion Hall. Prizes will be awarded in the costume contest and in door prize drawings. |
